FULL PRODUCT GUIDE HERE

Buzzweld RCP - Rust Control Primer

RCP has been superceeded (although still available to order here) with Rust Encapsulator. By combining the strengths of two previous generation primers, and an etch primer, we have created Rust Encapsulator. More details here.

RCP is a dedicated slow cure primer. Suitable for heavier corrosion than CIO, and 2K Armour due to its modified Alkyd base, RCP uses the longer cure time to fully wet out on rust, expelling the maximum amount of air and moisture.

Once applied and cured RCP continues to work in a similar manner to a Rust Converter, by stabilising rust from Fe2o3 to Magnetite, making your previously rusty piece of steel LESS REACTIVE than a fully prepared piece of steel. RCP uses this inert layer to form an additional protective barrier.

We recommend RCP for-

  • Maximum longevity
  • Upgrade existing solutions like, Stone Chip, Raptor, and Buzzweld1 in their corrosion inhibition properties.
  • Where prep is questionable, and you want the maximum chance of achieving longevity from a coating
  • Where you have time to allow RCP to fully cure prior to top coating (typically 48 hours, see guide above for more info.

Properties

  • Advanced Corrosion control primer
  • Does not suffer from rust creep
  • Will not chip or flake
  • Chemically Modifies corrosion over time to a lower reacting form
  • Apply direct to Firmly adherent rust
  • Can be applied to pre-keyed aluminium
  • High solids content
  • Compatible with Buzzweld Top coats.
  • TRUE Corrosion inhibitor.
  • The best primer for Chassis In One (CIO), Chassis Gloss Black
  • Brush, Roller, or Sprayed

If it is metal at my place I have used RCP on it. From my Land Rover to the Steel structure on my barn. This is a fantastic undercoat that goes on really well and adheres very well. It looks good on its own or can be painted over. I now keep a tin of this in the shed, just in case!

I really love this product. Currently using on my land rover 90.
The reason I chose this product was after a few months of testing out in the open on random bits of rusty steel. I pittedt it against some diy products aswell as some comercial only available products. After a short while it became evident that some couldn't cut the mustard regarding rust control. For a while it was close between this and a couple of other coatings but in the end rcp came out on top after proving to be more durable. Full marks from me.

Just applied this to my disco 2 chassis. Easy to apply by brush and good covering power, goes a long way. Time will tell how good it lasts n the chassis.
